The north face is of Bans , streaked with many corridors and rocky outcrops , dominates the large glacial cirque of Pilatte sources Vénéon .
The north pillar in the center of the face has been climbed for the first time in 1933 by Casimir Rodier and three English guests.

Starting point: Refuge Pilatte ( 2577 meters), 3-4 hour walk to the refuge of La Bérarde then 2 hours approach to reach the base of the pillar.
Elevation: 1100 m with 450m to the pier.
