Ice climbing week-end
Learn or perfection ice climbing wilst exploring the Haute Romanche area, renown for its many beautiful and diverse climbs. For beginners we will teach you the basic techniques to apprehend this very unique environment. We will choose routes adapted to your level. For those of you who already have some experience, this will be the occasion to try some more difficult and committed climbs. And for those who are interested in climbing independently, we can provide you with the right equipment.
Dates: every Saturday and Sunday from beginning of December to end of February.
Number of days: 2 days.
Number of participants: minimum 2 persons and maximum 4.
– For beginners Being in good shape is necessary in this winterlike atomosphere, with moves similar to rock climbing and up to one hour approaches to the ice falls.
– For the experienced: You need to be fit and already have experienced ice climbing.
Price “All Included”: 312€/person.
D-1 – Possibility to stay at hostel or hotel upon request.
D1 – Climbing and technical clinics in the Haute Romanche area
Programme: Meet at the Guide Bureau at 07:30 am. We go through
the equipment and take off to the ice climbing site (Pylône,
Caturgeas, Muretouze, Colère du ciel,..), depending on the
current conditions. This first day we will learn or review the
basic techniques and go through the safety measures when
climbing an ice fall.
D2 – Climbing and technical clinics in the Haute Romanche area
Programme: Same as above but exploring different sites and if
appropriate some bigger routes. The choice of climbs will
always be decided by the guide, taking into account the level
of the group and current conditions.
The programme is always subject to change depending on weather, snow
conditions and the level of the participants. The guide makes the final
decision to modify the programme due to safety reasons.
