A full day of glacier walking in la Grave, Ecrins national park

The Girose glacier spreads out from Ruillans cable car station, the arrival point for the cable car from la Grave. Together with the Mont de Lans glacier it forms the biggest glacier cap in France (6 km east to west). The crevasses and the seracs of the glacier are accessible to almost everyone accompanied and roped up together with a Mountain Guide from the Bureau des Guides de La Grave. Together we head for the col de la Lauze on the Girose glacier, towards the cols du Replat or the Clot des Cavales to enjoy a magnificent panorama, from the Vercors to Mont Blanc and from the Vanoise to Mont Thabor. We can see many beautiful summits in the Ecrins national park and the Oisans region and right by our side the majestic la Meije rises up. Whilst being out we will talk about glacier evolution and movement.
