An introductory course, punctuated with educational workshops that will help you ask yourself the right questions before and during your hike:
• ‘Snow science’ workshop (observing snow, choosing terrain)
• Avalanche transceiver workshop (how to use your avalanche transceiver, practical exercise)
• ‘Mapping’ workshop (preparing your trip)
• ‘Technical terrain’ workshop with Petzl (conversion, use of ice axes and crampons, tackling steep slopes)
• ‘Avalanche transceiver search’ workshop with Ortovox
• Dynastar, a privileged partner of the guide office, will be on site on the day of the event and you will be able to test the ski touring and free touring ranges for free!
To facilitate discussion and encourage interaction between participants, you will be grouped with a small number of other participants and accompanied by your guide. The day will consist of moving between different workshops, and the ski transitions, both uphill and downhill, will provide an opportunity to discuss and explore topics in more depth with your guide.
