A day in the Hautes Vallées, Villar d'Arêne, Chazelet, La Grave, Col du Lautaret, Cerces... to learn everything you need to know about ski touring!
Winter mountain safety training day in the Ecrins or Oisans massif, around La Grave.
In winter, the mountains become an exceptional playground, magnificent but complex to understand.
Snow, wind, cold, routes that change depending on slopes and obstacles, the use of safety equipment, choosing the right location: there are many issues that can discourage budding mountaineers…
The La Grave Guides office offers to accompany you on this day-long discovery of the winter mountains:
Presentation of safety equipment and training in avalanche victim search and rescue. Preparation for a mountain outing: reading the BERA, choosing a route based on snow and weather conditions, what to pack in your rucksack.
A short hike from the hamlets of Les Terrasses or Le Chazelet, Villar d’Arêne or the Col du Lautaret will allow us to put what we have learnt into practice.
On the day itself: meet at 8.45am directly at the activity location: you will meet the guide, who will lend you safety equipment (avalanche transceiver, shovel, probe).
Spend a day ski touring as if you were the guide: preparing for the outing, analysing conditions, checking equipment, practising avalanche rescue techniques, good humour and lots of fun!
Don’t forget to bring a backpack (30L).
You will be supervised by state-certified mountain guides.
The programme will be tailored to the snow and weather conditions on the day, your level and your preferences.
