2-day mountaineering course – Beginner level

Set off on a two-day adventure led by a mountain guide and discover accessible and varied routes in the spectacular setting of the Meije region: the summit of Goléon, Grande Ruine, Tête des Corridors or Tête du Replat.

Experience snow mountaineering in the heart of the Meije region. Between rope climbing, nights in mountain huts and spectacular sunrise views, each outing combines learning, excitement and camaraderie. An authentic alpine immersion, combining effort, pleasure and discovery, to experience the magic of the high peaks. An ideal terrain to discover mountaineering, improve your snow and ice skills and share a unique experience.

  • Summit of Goléon (3,427 m): Meet at the refuge – Accessible snow and mixed route, offering breathtaking views of the Meije and the Écrins massif. Approximately 1,200 m of elevation gain, progression on moderate slopes (30°), ideal as a first alpine experience.
  • La Grande Ruine (3,765 m): Ascent to the refuge with your guide, short workshop around the refuge on the first day – A more sustained route from the Adèle Planchard refuge, in the heart of Oisans, leading to a wild and majestic summit in the heart of the Écrins massif, with a 360° panorama. A classic and challenging route, with an elevation gain of around 1,400 m, sometimes steep snow passages (35–40°) requiring crampons and ice axes, ending at a wild summit overlooking Oisans.
  • Tête des Corridors (3,273 m): Climb to the refuge with your guide – An easy, varied and educational route, ideal for spending a night at the famous Refuge de l’Aigle. Varied progression on glaciers and snow couloirs, with a steady gradient of around 35°, suitable for perfecting technique and safety.
  • Tête du Replat (3,421 m): Meet at the refuge – Beautiful glacier climb, around 1,300 m elevation gain, crossing ridges and sustained snow slopes (35–40°), offering superb views of the Meije region and the heart of the Écrins. From the Refuge de la Selle.

Morning meeting with your guide or direct arrival at the refuge (if accessible by hike)

Early morning departure, ascent to the summit and descent back down to the valley

If you’re a regular hiker and you’d like to go higher, we’re here to help you take your first steps up there: on snow, rock, and sometimes both at the same time, we’ll take the time to discover the basic techniques involved in mountain sports.

Be in good physical shape. Regularly practise an endurance sport such as walking, cycling, running, swimming, …., etc. Be prepared for a 5- to 8-hour day’s sport, carrying a rucksack weighing around ten kilos.
