800 metres of superb and varied rock climbing, a great climb on a wild summit! Ecrins national Park
The Aiguille du Plat de la Selle is not the best known of the peaks in the area, and while some of the classic routes leading to its summit are worth the detour, it is via a modern route that climbing it becomes an extraordinary feat: 800 metres of climbing with difficulties up to 6c on rock that is usually very good!
There are a few escape routes that allow for an early descent, but although the passages are secured by numerous bolts, the entire length of this excessive route is an adventure that should not be underestimated.
The return via the normal route requires real mountaineering skills, and it is with the feeling of having had a great day in the mountains that we return to the Soreiller refuge, where perhaps another night will not be too much…
