Crossing the Trifides ridges, Peyrou d'Amont ridge, Pierre Aiguille ridge or Bruyère ridges from Pont de l'Alpe: set off on an exceptional journey!
In the heart of the Ecrins massif, the Meije region offers a unique playground for rock climbing enthusiasts.
Here, the ridges cut elegantly into the sky, alternating between aerial passages and easy climbing, in a grandiose setting facing the glaciers and legendary peaks of Oisans.
Whether you’re a thrill seeker or an aesthete, there’s something for everyone.
Arête de Trifides: A short glacier approach from the top of the Meije cable car, followed by an accessible and aerial traverse, alternating between rocky outcrops and ridge passages, perfect for learning rope techniques and managing vertigo in an unforgettable high mountain setting.
Arête de Peyrou d’Amont: A more sustained climb. An elegant line that winds between the north faces of La Meije and Vallon de Chancel for a complete rock climbing experience. (from the cable car’s intermediate station)
Arête de Pierre Aiguille: A fine, slender ridge on the south face above the hamlet of Les Fréau, combining verticality and panoramic views of the La Meije massif.
Arêtes de la Bruyère: A beautiful classic in the middle of the Cerces massif with a rural approach of about two hours. The biggest difficulty is overcome right from the start: 20 metres of grade 5, followed by occasional sections no higher than grade 4.
