The Rouya corridor is a prime destination for those who enjoy challenging technical skiing in the high Alps
The small resort of Pelvoux in the heart of Vallouise is well known to skiers looking to escape the crowds and ski tourers eager to enjoy the beautiful slopes of La Blanche. This summit, directly accessible from the top of the resort’s lifts, is a renowned classic, but there are other more secluded destinations for skiers who enjoy steep slopes.
The Rouya couloir is a prime destination for those who enjoy technical skiing with character:
a technical entrance requiring the use of ropes, followed by a narrow section where you have to skid to access a sustained straight couloir. A skier’s dream, all under the watchful gaze of the Ecrins giants!
Once we reach the wild Clapouse valley, we can either glide down to Ailefroide and Pelvoux, or put our skins back on to enjoy the location a little longer and extend our day in this characterful mountain range.

You regularly go on day or multi-day ski touring trips. You are not afraid of sustained effort and can tackle climbs and descents in all snow conditions. Steep slopes on the way up and down do not unsettle you.
Be in good physical shape to comfortably tackle a 3- to 5-hour climb with a 6-8kg backpack containing your belongings for the day.
